Come with me on a culinary journey of cooking, mostly vegan fare, for those who like healthy, flavorful and beautiful food. I promise, no declare!, that the food we cook will be full flavored and delicious. My passion: cooking healthy, growing food, and feeding people masterpieces packed full of nutrients.

By no stretch of the imagination am I an expert, just passionate about food from garden, to table, to community. Using various forms of blogging I hope to dispel fears that cooking needs to be precise. Perhaps some recipes need precision, but that’s not what we’ll be cooking here. I’ve had many people over the years want recipes of things I’ve made. When they make this request, I usually it end up sounding something like this: “Ummm…there’s garlic……onions……hmmmmm….”It can be difficult for me to recreate recipes when most of the time I’m rummaging through the pantry or fridge and coming up with recipes on the spot.

This blog will also contain gardening tips and tidbits. I’ve been gardening and cooking for as long as I can remember. Even in those days I wasn’t a fan of following recipes. My parents had one rule: if I make it, I eat it. It’s still the same today, whether it be in my life or in the kitchen, I usually buck what’s prescribed by society or written in a cookbook, and instead open myself up to the possibilities and trust myself.

When checking out my blog, or really any other piece of information anywhere- heed caution! Explore information, sift through it. Discover what feels right for you. Everybody is different and every body is different. Make changes or substitutes that feel right to you. That’s the beauty of cooking. So come on! And as one of my favorite authors, Dr. Seuss, once said “Why fit in when you were born to stand out?” This is how I feel about cooking. Make it personal. Make it yours. And enjoy!
